Webinar: Investing in Turbulent Times
About the Program
Since the U.S. equity market peaked on February 19th, it has recorded the swiftest decline as well as the swiftest recovery in recorded memory. With this backdrop, there remains considerable skepticism about the durability of this stock market recovery, reflected in the record amount of cash on the sidelines. In this environment, how does one invest? Does one increase the margin of safety with fixed income, presently yielding close to zero, or does one stay the course in equities which are getting progressively more expensive? This presentation starts with examining the backdrop of equity markets, and then articulates constructive strategies that can be used to protect against downside risk while participating on the upside, and doing so in situations familiar to our members, such as outsized concentrated positions, excessive allocations to equities with large unrealized gains for clients, essentially helping navigate these difficult times in a manner consistent with our fiduciary responsibilities.
