With this presentation, Jennifer will unpack these and other related social science research findings and examine their potential impacts on the estate planning process. Topics covered will include best practices for client engagement regarding nontraditional family structures, drafting for flexibility in fiduciary selection and anticipated changes in a trust’s beneficiary pool, and the importance of testamentary charitable transfers to a childfree client’s legacy. This is an intermediate level program.\n \nAbout the Presenter\n Jennifer B. Goode is a National Director of Bernstein Private Wealth Management’s Institute for Trust and Estate Planning in the Washington, D.C. office. Her articles about tax and estate planning have appeared in numerous publications, including the ABA’s Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Journal, Bloomberg’s Tax Management Estates, Gifts, and Trusts Journal, and Practical Law, and she was recently recognized as Bloomberg Tax’s 2023 Estates, Gifts, and Trusts Tax Contributor of the Year. Jennifer frequently presents to professional groups across the U.S. on topics relating to the intersection of estate planning and investing, including a recent appearance at the 58th Annual Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning.\n \nContinuing Education – EPC Cleveland will request approval for this program from the CFP® Board of Standards for CFP® designation holders. A certificate of completion will also be available for those AEPs, CPAs, and CWS designees who feel the program satisfies their continuing education requirements.
