DESCRIPTION:\nAbout the Program\n The minimum distribution rules that applied to many IRAs and retirement plans were around for over 30 years.  Just before COVID-19 changed our entire world, the SECURE Act was signed into law in December 2019 and fundamentally changed the world of planning with retirement benefits.  Get back up to speed on the SECURE Act rules, learn the additional changes from the CARES Act, and learn how to apply those new rules and when to stick with the old ones.\n \nAbout the Speaker\n Paul Fidler is a partner at Schneider Smeltz Spieth Bell LLP in Cleveland. His practice focuses on estate planning and administration; trust administration; income taxation of estates, trusts, and individuals; planning for charitable gifts and foundations, and business succession planning. Paul is a frequent speaker and author on a wide range of estate planning topics, including qualified retirement plans and IRAs. Paul’s recent presentations and published articles have focused on the impact of the new SECURE Act and CARES Act.  He has recently been published in the Probate Law Journal of Ohio, and by the Northern Ohio Charitable Gift Planners.\n \nKatherine E.
