DESCRIPTION:\nPlease note the special time and location of this event. \n ------\n\nAbout the Program\n In late 2017 Congress unleashed a massive set of changes to the federal tax laws, which despite the length and detail, raised as many questions as they answered.  Since that time the Treasury Department and the IRS have produced volumes of regulations, announcements, and interpretations of what was meant by the law changes.  The presentation will review what sorts of guidance the IRS has issued, how the guidance affects estate planning and tax planning for clients, and what further changes to look for going forward.\n \nAbout the Speaker\n Scott Swartz is Counsel for Wellspring Financial Advisors in Cleveland and has been a practicing attorney focusing on estate planning and taxation matters for over 25 years.  He obtained his bachelor degree with concentrations in accounting and finance from Bowling Green State University, his law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, and his Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University.  Scott currently teaches a course in wealth management at John Carroll University.  He contributes a quarterly tax update to the NAEPC Journal of Estate and Tax Planning, and writes a Taxing Wealth column for the Tax Notes weekly publication.  Scott served two terms on the board of the Estate Planning Council of Cleveland. \n \nLaura B. Springer, CRPC®, CFP® │ 2018-2019 Program Chair\n \nReservation Policy – All attendees are encouraged to register on or before 01/22/19 and walk-in reservations will be accepted on a space-available basis only.  Meeting cost is $25 for members when paid in advance before noon 01/22/19, $40 for members at the door, $40 for guests, and $200 for a table of six (please submit names to admin@epccleveland.org by 01/18/19).  If you reserve and are unable to attend, please call the office to cancel by noon 01/22/19 to avoid a no-show reservation billing.\n \nContinuing Education – EPC Cleveland will request approval for this program from the CFP® Board of Standards for CFP® designation holders and from the Supreme Court of Ohio for Ohio attorneys to receive CLE credit.
